IUAV, Venice

In June 2007 a low-tech workshop was held at the IUAV University School of Architecture in Venice, part of a series of workshops teaching the methods of Low Tech Sensors and Actuators — the free, Creative Commons handbook by Usman Haque and Adam Somlai-Fischer, commissioned by FACT, Liverpool. The handbook demonstrated how cheap electronic toys and gadgets can be reconfigured into sensors and actuators, letting artists and architects build interactive spaces quickly and inexpensively.
